Space in LA: Exploring the Lasting Legacy

Published on Jan 25, 2023

LAist Studios and KPCC presents “Space in LA: Exploring the Lasting Legacy,” a live event featuring M.G. Lord, host of “LA Made: Blood, Sweat and Rockets,” who will take a look at how STEM education is readying the scientists and engineers of tomorrow and what’s on the horizon for new missions to outer space.

This is on Thursday evening, Jan. 26, from 7 to 8 p.m. at KPCC’s Crawford Family Forum.

Everyone wants to hear your space stories! Step into a recording booth in the Mohn Broadcast Center to tell us your L.A. space experience.

“Was your mom a rocket scientist? A family member an engineer at Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)? Do you still harbor a fascination with rockets that started when you were a kid? Tell us all about it at the event.”

Listen to “LA Made: Blood, Sweat and Rockets” from LAist Studios to hear the incredible true story of the beginnings of JPL.
