Tonight is Spring ArtNight Pasadena! Celebrate Art in All Its Many Forms

Spring ArtNight Pasadena, the City’s signature cultural event produced by the Cultural Affairs Division in collaboration with partner organizations, will be virtual for the second year in a row on Friday, April 16, 6 to 10 p.m., in keeping with social distancing requirements.

As always, ArtNight will feature each partner group presenting their own streamed event, live or recorded.

At least 16 of Pasadena’s arts and culture organizations have confirmed their participation to show that the arts survive in Pasadena. Among them, A Room to Create will feature the Pennington Dance Group as they present dance artists from around the world as well as local home-grown talent.

ArtCenter College of Design will feature the Alyce de Roulet Williamson Gallery with its virtual exhibition, “SKY Stories: Cosmologists Occupy an Art Space”; the Peter and Merle Mullin Gallery with “Upgrade Available,” artist Julia Christensen’s meditation on the cultural and personal impacts of upgrade culture; the Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography Gallery, at 950 South Raymond Ave., where you can catch a of the new Billboard Graphics installation at ArtCenter South Campus; and ArtCenter’s DTLA gallery, with “Today is Your Birthday,” by Eli Smith – an inquiry into the labor of both forgetting and remembering across generations.

The Light Bringer Project will have their Artists-in-Place providing an intimate look inside artists’ studios and their psyches. This video documentary by Emile Gentile shows a self-portrait of their passions, beliefs, evolutions, techniques and mastery.
