Pasadena is about to waltz back in time. On Saturday, November 29, 2025, the historic Pasadena Masonic Temple will open its doors to a spectacle of elegance: the Social Daunce Irregulars Victorian Grand Ball.

This isn’t just a dance—it’s a living tradition. For more than thirty years, the Social Daunce Irregulars have been curating authentic Victorian balls, keeping the grandeur of the 19th‑century ballroom alive in the modern age. Their mission is simple yet enchanting: to recreate the social joy of an era when dance was both art and community.

Every step at the Grand Ball is steeped in history. The dances are drawn directly from the 19th century, and the music is performed live by Mora’s Social Quadrille Orchestra, ensuring that no recorded track ever breaks the spell. Guests can expect to whirl through quadrilles, reels, and waltzes exactly as they were enjoyed in Victorian parlors and grand halls.

Not sure how to dance a quadrille? The Irregulars have you covered. A pre‑ball dance class will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Pasadena Masonic Hall. For just $15 at the door, participants can learn the steps, rotate partners, and build confidence before the big night. No partner is required—just a willingness to join the fun.

The Victorian Grand Ball is more than a performance; it’s a gathering of Pasadena’s civic spirit. Guests arrive in gowns and suits, ready to share in the joy of tradition. The Masonic Temple, with its stately architecture, provides the perfect backdrop for an evening of candlelit charm and polished floors echoing with laughter and music.

The Social Daunce Irregulars Victorian Grand Ball takes place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, beginning at 7:30 PM at the Pasadena Masonic Temple. Tickets are $45 in advance (plus fees) or $50 at the door, if not sold out. Refunds are available up to seven days before the event. Parking is available near the venue.
