“Foodies + New Friends LA: Dinner with Strangers” brings complete strangers together over shared meals—no dating apps, no professional networking, just genuine connection.

The Ermantourage LA events cap gatherings at four to six people maximum.

For $12.51—a commitment fee excluding the meal—participants sign up not knowing who they’ll meet or where they’ll dine.

“No need for yet another app to take up space on your phone—just four walls and a roof and good food for people to connect,” reads the event description.

FOX 11 Los Angeles featured Erman Baradi and the 100 Cities Project on June 23, highlighting how the format fights loneliness. Nashville Fox 17 also covered the events.

Eventbrite’s TRNDS report featured Ermantourage as an example of the surging micro-event movement, which saw 23 percent growth in 2024. According to the report, 63 percent of event organizers anticipate increased demand for intimate gatherings.

“More intimate gatherings mean people can be seen, heard, and inspired,” according to the Eventbrite TRNDS report.

Each dinner occurs at different restaurants with independent reservations.

Events focus on friendship-building rather than dating or networking.

The deliberately low-tech process represents a return to fundamental human connection—one meal, one table, one conversation at a time.
