Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger is set to host the 25th annual “Tribute to Veterans and Military Families” this Saturday, an event celebrating the service and sacrifice of veterans and their families.
The event, held on Memorial Day weekend, will take place at nearby Arcadia County Park, providing a family-friendly day out complete with resources, wellness programs, and access to veteran benefits.
There are no family-oriented Memorial Day weekend tributes or ceremonies sponsored by the City of Pasadena.
The free community event will see several prominent figures in attendance besides Barger, including U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu, California Veterans Board Chairman Hugh Crooks and James Zenner, the director of L.A. County’s Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 405 South Santa Anita Avenue, Arcadia, CA 91006.
Highlights include a display of military vehicles and equipment, various exhibitor booths, and a special tribute ceremony scheduled for 10:30 a.m. This ceremony will feature the presentation of community hero and service awards, honoring those who have made significant contributions to their communities.
The “Tribute to Veterans and Military Families” aims to foster community spirit, honor those who have served and continue to serve in the military, and provide valuable resources to veterans and their families. The occasion also offers an opportunity for the community to learn more about the military and its contributions to the nation.
