Sweet Red Peach, an Inglewood bakery known for its red velvet cupcakes and Southern desserts, is opening a new location in Pasadena this summer. Owner Karolyn Plummer tells Eater LA the new bakery will be located across from Houston’s (Restaurant) on Arroyo Parkway and Del Mar Blvd.

The space, next door to Swan Cleaners, is being completely revamped, with an estimated opening in August or September. Sweet Red Peach first opened in Inglewood in 2011 and has since expanded to Riverside County and Torrance’s Del Amo Fashion Center in 2023.

On Instagram, the bakery announced the upcoming Pasadena location, writing: “PASADENA!!!… Getting ready 🙌🏽… Coming Soon..Arroyo Parkway🤗..#sweetredpeach #pasadenabakery #bakery#cakes #desserts #comingsoon #september2024.”

On the bakery’s website, Plummer shares the story of Sweet Red Peach’s beginnings, saying she and her brother began by selling desserts to local salons, barber shops, and churches.

“We always offered a ‘money back guarantee,'” she writes. “To this date, I have never had to honor this.”

Plummer opened her first bakery in 2011, specializing in desserts made from scratch, always vowing, “Never to cheat the customers.” The bakery’s motto is “If we wouldn’t eat it, why would we expect you to?”

“We are here for all of your baking desires,” Plummer said. “Whether you need desserts for a small family function, baby/bridal shower or for a wedding party, we will make sure your event is tasty and spectacular.”

Sweet Red Peach currently has three locations in California, including the original Inglewood bakery, and two locations in Atlanta, Georgia.
