On Saturday, March 16, the prestigious Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles was the setting for a remarkable event that celebrated the commendable efforts of John Drinker and Los Altos Auxiliary in their unwavering dedication to enhancing the lives of children, young adults, adults, and families facing adversity. The gala, attended by 220 guests, succeeded in raising approximately $400,000, marking a significant contribution to the mission of Sycamores.
John Drinker and Los Altos Auxiliary have played a pivotal role in advancing Sycamores’ mission, contributing significantly to the organization’s capacity to offer vital services and support. Their commitment has not only provided immediate assistance but has also laid the foundation for sustainable improvement in the lives of many Southern Californians.
The event was more than a fundraising gala; it was a gathering of community members united in support of a noble cause. Those in attendance were treated to an evening of exquisite cuisine, a selection of engaging auctions, and stories that highlighted the impact of Sycamores’ work. These narratives informed guests of the organization’s achievements and inspired continued support and involvement from the community.
A special musical performance by Grammy Award-winning Motown legend, Thelma Houston, added to the allure of the evening. Known for her captivating voice and dynamic stage presence, Houston’s performance was eagerly anticipated and undeniably became a highlight of the evening.
