Tee Off With Cops Friday, For A Great Cause

Published on Oct 6, 2022

Pasadena PAL, the Police Activities League, will be sponsoring its Golf Classic 2022 on Friday, October 7, at Brookside Golf Club.

This is a friendly tournament with golf competitions and contests and a post-tournament reception.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. followed by breakfast. The shotgun start is at 8 a.m. Cocktail and awards will be at 1 p.m.

Pasadena PAL has been conducting programs and activities that are used as a vehicle to help youth in the Pasadena community develop skills that build self-esteem and encourage them to reach their full potential.

While there are numerous admirable youth programs in operation, Pasadena PAL is unique in that it adds one key ingredient: police officers. This relationship supports the concept of “building the bond between cops and kids” which is part of PAL’s objective to form a safe Pasadena.

PAL youth participate in the Annual Summer Youth Leadership Conference and Life After High School program. PAL youth also participate in California PAL basketball, soccer and karate tournaments, in several instances placing among the top competitors.

Hundreds of PAL youth also participated in recreational field trips throughout the year, including visits to Hearst Castle, Museums, Theme Parks, Roller Skating, Ice Skating, the Pasadena Playhouse, and surfing and camping trips to state beaches.

Pasadena PAL programs consist of culinary arts, personal development, and boys and girls groups. Many more programs are being planned to meet the needs of a diverse youth population.
