Kids who love to experiment will get to “experience the Fun Side of STEM” at a free, teen‑taught workshop at Pasadena’s Hastings Branch Library.

The WOW! That’s STEM session is designed for children ages 6 to 11.

For the current date, time, and availability of the next session, contact the library directly at (626) 744‑7262 or visit the Pasadena Public Library events calendar.

The workshop is part of Pasadena Public Library’s STEAM @ the Library initiative, which invites “tinkerers, creators, makers and inventors” to explore science, technology, engineering, art and math through interactive programs.

Teen instructors from Pasadena‑area high schools will lead hands‑on activities that introduce kids to cool science concepts in an accessible way.

At each WOW! That’s STEM workshop, kids “learn cool science concepts and build a fun project to reinforce concept,” according to the program.

After building, they test and play with their projects, then come up with ideas for improving them, encouraging problem‑solving and creativity.

Space is limited and pre‑registration is recommended to ensure each child has a spot and materials, with walk‑ins welcome as availability permits.

WOW! That’s STEM will run on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. at 3325 East Orange Grove Blvd Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 744‑7262 or visit https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D194088439.
