On Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 4 p.m., Hastings Branch Library will host “Massively Multiplayer In-Person Spooky Board Games,” a free Halloween-themed gaming event designed for teens ages 13 to 18. No reservations required, and friends are welcome.
“You’re in for a scare because we have all the best board games for a haunted night out! Come back from the dead in Zombie Kittens; fight Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolf Man in Horrified; and accuse your friends of murder in One Night Ultimate Werewolf!” according to the City of Pasadena’s official event announcement.
The library has curated three horror-themed games for the evening. Zombie Kittens offers chaotic, humorous gameplay. Horrified: Universal Monsters is a cooperative strategy game where players battle classic movie monsters. One Night Ultimate Werewolf, a social deduction game for 3 to 10 players, runs approximately 10 minutes per round. As one Fantasy Hive reviewer noted: “One Night Ultimate Werewolf is a great party game for large groups— it’s easy to learn, simple to set up, fast to play, and pretty intuitive.”
The event will include a photo-shoot background and light face painting to enhance the spooky atmosphere.
The event, sponsored by Pasadena Public Library, will take place at Hastings Branch Library, 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd. in Pasadena. For more information, call 626-744-7262.
