The free workshop is part of the library system’s celebration of African American and Black History Month. All supplies will be provided for participants.
“Africa is a large continent where you can connect tribal patterns and styles to different cultures and traditions,” the event description notes. “Most have something in common – a bold design and hidden meaning.”
Attendance is limited and requires advance registration through the LA County Library’s event system. Organizers cannot guarantee availability for unregistered attendees.
The workshop connects to this year’s Black History Month theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” which marks 100 years since Carter Godwin Woodson and five colleagues founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History on September 9, 1915.
“In honor of African American and Black History Month, we are hosting a variety of commemorative events,” the LA County Library system announced in its February publication. The library is also offering an adult version of the glass painting program.
The La Cañada Flintridge Library, located at 4545 North Oakwood Avenue, opened in its current building on June 16, 1971, making it one of the early branches established in the Los Angeles County Public Library system.
African American and Black History Month: Glass Painting will run on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at 3:30-4:30 p.m. La Cañada Flintridge Library, 4545 North Oakwood Ave., La Cañada Flintridge. For more information, call (818) 790-3330 or visit https://visit.lacountylibrary.org/event/15616880.
