The Early Bird Catches the Cactus: Take an Early Shot Friday at the Huntington Library’s Weekend Cactus and Succulent Show

Published on Jun 30, 2022

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino is doing an Early Bird Cactus and Succulent Sale on Friday, July 1, before the 55th annual Cactus and Succulent Show and Sale officially opens Saturday through Sunday.

During this advanced event, you can pick up a cactus or two to show your friends and neighbors, and then come back the next day or Sunday for the annual show, where hundreds of intriguing plants will be on view, courtesy of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America.

With today’s growing interest in dry-climate gardening, the event is a must for anyone wanting to learn more about these wonderfully diverse and visually striking plants.

Entry to the Early Bird Cactus and Succulent Sale, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is free with admission. Advance online timed-entry reservations are now required on weekends for both visitors and members.
