The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens in San Marino will open its doors free of charge June 5 as part of its monthly program offering no-cost admission to the renowned cultural institution.

The free admission program occurs the first Thursday of every month, with advance reservations required. Tickets become available at 9 a.m. on the last Thursday of each month for the following week’s free day, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out.

To ensure broad public access, the institution limits each household to five tickets per year. All visitors, including infants, must have a ticket for entry on free days. The tickets are non-transferable and valid only for the selected date and time slot.

Due to high demand, The Huntington implements a virtual waiting room system on ticket release days. Visitors entering the online queue receive a random number and are redirected to reserve tickets if selected.

Regular members cannot use their memberships for free day visits, though upper-level members receive early entry privileges from 8 to 10 a.m. The institution asks that only one email address and one order be submitted per household, with additional orders subject to cancellation.

Tickets for free days are available at https://www.huntington.org/free-day.

Nonprofit groups must complete an online request form at https://thehuntington.formstack.com/forms/free_day_group_requests, while school groups should contact the institution’s education department directly at schoolprograms@huntington.org.

The Huntington, located at 1151 Oxford Road in San Marino, houses significant art collections, rare books and manuscripts, and expansive botanical gardens across its 207-acre campus.
