Reverb and chorus effects are generated through the guitar’s own resonance, using Yamaha’s proprietary technology to move the sound through the body itself rather than through any speaker or amplifier. The result is an immersive, room-filling playing experience that requires nothing but the guitar, which is what classical players have always wanted and never quite had.
Solid spruce top, ovangkol back and sides, traditional classical body shape, rosewood fingerboard, and a neck profile comfortable for both the trained classical player and the fingerstyle guitarist who wandered in from steel-string territory. The CG-TA sounds the way a good classical guitar should sound, with the addition of something no classical guitar has ever done before.

Every great performance has a moment when the guitarist steps away from the amp and walks toward the edge of the stage. With a cable, that moment ends at about fifteen feet. With the BeatSphere BIM-W1, it ends at 164 feet, which is roughly the distance between the garage and the neighbor’s driveway, and probably far enough.
The BIM-W1 runs on UHF wireless technology, which is the same part of the spectrum professional touring rigs use, and for good reason. It resists dropouts and interference better than standard 2.4GHz systems, delivers audio with less than five milliseconds of latency, and charges in a compact case that fits in a gig bag pocket. The transmitter plugs directly into the guitar jack, rotates to fit any instrument, and disappears from consciousness within about thirty seconds of use. We had a great time roaming and rocking around the house (and the garage) and never losing a note, while driving the cat crazy.
