Tournament of Roses to Host #ThisGen2020: A Youth Empowerment Forum

The second annual #ThisGen youth empowerment forum, presented by East West Bank, is returning to Pasadena. Geared toward high school and college-aged students, #ThisGen2020 is an impactful day filled with inspirational conversation with star athletes, industry innovators, talented artists, writers and more. This Tournament of Roses® event will feature opportunities to mix and mingle with speakers and community leaders. #ThisGen aims to not only inspire the next generation of leaders but provide a great opportunity for networking.

The half-day program will feature three speaker panels; Hustle & Motivate: Career Panel, Victory Lap: Sports Panel, and The Blueprint: STEAM/STEM Panel. Attendees will leave feeling empowered to be courageous, confident and intentional with the choices that impact their future. Featured speakers currently scheduled to attend include:

• Ramses Barden – Former Pro-Football Champion and Current Head Coach at Flintridge Prep
• Tom Casiello – Writer for Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment/TV Writer)
• Anedra Edwards – Visual Effects Editor, Warner Bros.
• Laurie Hernandez – 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist, Gymnastics
• Dr. Cindy Hunt – Assistant VP for Development at Giant Magellan Telescope
• Brinda Penmetsa – Technology Consultant, Social Impact Advocate
• Jess Rosales – #ThisGen Host and Moderator Sports Reporter and Entertainment Host
• Jose Zelaya – Character Designer, Walt Disney Studios

Admission is complimentary for high school and college-aged students and will run from

9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Beckman Auditorium at Caltech (California Technical Institute) and includes breakfast and lunch. Registration for #ThisGen2020 is now open and available online at tournamentofroses.com/events/thisgen/
