Tuesday Musicale’s recitals have rotated to First Church of Christ Scientist while the Pasadena Central Library — the organization’s home venue — remains closed for seismic retrofitting. The church, with its sanctuary acoustics and Sunday School Room that doubles as a chamber-music space, has hosted the recitals since the dislocation began. Disabled parking is available at the rear of the church lot; the recital is held in the Sunday School Room, accessed through the parking lot entrance.
Programming for Tuesday Musicale’s lunch-hour recitals draws on a deep roster of member musicians and guest performers, with each season’s slate typically moving through chamber works, vocal selections and solo piano pieces from across the classical canon. Admission is free and open to the public, in keeping with the organization’s longtime mission of broadening access to high-caliber live performance in Pasadena’s historic spaces.
A pre-concert talk often precedes the music, and audience members are welcome to stay afterward for informal conversation with the performers. The full season returns in October.
Tuesday Musicale will present a free chamber music concert Tuesday, June 2 at 12:30 p.m. at First Church of Christ Scientist, 80 S. Oakland Ave., in Pasadena. Admission is free. For more information, call (626) 797-1994 or visit tuesdaymusicaleca.org.
