Vroman’s Bookstore will launch its 2025 Summer Reading Program with an interactive jewelry-making event designed to combine literature and creative arts for young readers.
The kickoff event, scheduled for Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m., will be sponsored and co-hosted by Kidd’s Jewelry Heist, a local business that specializes in combining entertainment with jewelry design experiences.
Children who register for the event will participate in a bracelet-making activity inspired by their favorite books and stories. The collaboration is part of Vroman’s “Picture This!” summer reading program, which aims to spark imagination through a blend of literacy and hands-on activities.
Kidd’s Jewelry Heist has gained recognition for its unique approach to entertainment, receiving coverage in the Los Angeles Times and SecretLA, and appearing on the popular children’s YouTube show BLIPPI. The company has also provided entertainment at regional events including the Malibu Chili Cook-off and Stagecoach country music festival.
The business was established in 2012 in South Pasadena and operated there for more than a decade before relocating to its current headquarters, Huntington Hall, in San Marino in 2022. The company also maintains a presence at Third Space in Malibu and has plans for a Nashville, Tennessee location.
