“Black Adam” kept its spot atop the box office this weekend, taking in $27.7 million at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The DC Comics adaptation starring Dwayne Johnson, which opened to $67 million last weekend, once again finished ahead of the Julia Roberts-George Clooney vehicle “Ticket to Paradise,” which grossed $10 million Friday through Sunday in its second week in theaters, Comscore reported.

Horror films took the next three spots on Halloween weekend. “Prey for the Devil” opened with $7 million. “Smile” was fourth with $5 million in its fifth week in theaters, followed by “Halloween Ends” with $3.8 million in its third week.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile” ($2.82 million), “Till” ($2.81 million), “Terrifier 2” ($1.8 million), “The Woman King” ($1.1 million) and “TAR” ($1 million).

This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $67.3 million. The year-to-date total is up to $6.142 billion — an increase of 100% over the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.
