“Eternals” kept its spot atop the box office this weekend, grossing $27.5 million to lead all films released in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
The latest in a long line of Marvel superhero movies beat out Paramount’s family film “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” which opened with $16.4 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, Comscore reported.
“Clifford the Big Red Dog” is also available for home viewing on the Paramount Plus streaming service.
“Dune” was in third place with $5.5 million in its fourth weekend of release. That film is also available for home viewing on the HBO Max streaming service.
The James Bond film “No Time to Die” grossed another $4.6 million for fourth place in its sixth week of release, followed by “Venom: Let There be Carnage” with $4 million in its seventh week.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Ron’s Gone Wrong” ($2.2 million), “The French Dispatch” ($1.84 million), “Belfast” ($1.8 million), “Spencer” ($1.5 million) and “Antlers” ($1.2 million).
