What We’re Watching: ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ Tops North American Box Office

“The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” is the top-grossing film at the box office this weekend, earning $11.67 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, according to industry estimates. The action comedy — a sequel to 2017’s “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” — opened Wednesday and has grossed $17 million since then, Comscore reported.

Another sequel, “A Quiet Place Part II” starring Emily Blunt, grossed $9.4 million in its fourth weekend of release to claim second place.

“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” was third with $6.1 million, followed by “The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It” with $5.15 million and Disney’s “Cruella” with $5.1 million.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “In the Heights” ($4.2 million), “Spirit Untamed” ($1.6 million), “12 Mighty Orphans” ($870,162), “The House Next Door: Meet The Blacks 2” ($604,400) and “Wrath Of Man” ($447,899).
