Peacocks strut through the grounds as guests arrive, their iridescent tails catching the evening light.

But on Saturday, August 9, it won’t be the resident birds commanding attention at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden—it will be the orchestral thunder of “Goldfinger” and the sultry vocals bringing James Bond’s musical legacy to life.

The Pasadena Symphony and POPS will present “The Music of Bond: James Bond” at 7:30 p.m.

Attendees must maintain a 10-foot distance from the peacocks during the performance—a uniquely Californian concert protocol.

“Glamour and intrigue are in the air as the timeless music of 007 transports you into the thrilling world of the legendary spy,” according to the official event description.

The program features orchestral renditions of classic Bond themes including “Goldfinger,” “Live and Let Die,” “Skyfall,” and the original “James Bond Theme,” with arrangements by John Barry and Marvin Hamlisch.

Featured soloists Storm Large and Jimmie Herrod will perform vocal renditions.

Under Michael Feinstein’s leadership since 2012, the summer POPS series has expanded from four to six concerts and seen more than double the revenue and attendance.

“The Music of Bond: James Bond” will run on Saturday, August 9 at 7:30 p.m. Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, 301 North Baldwin Ave., Arcadia. For more call (626) 793-7172 or visit https://pasadenasymphony-pops.org/concert/the-music-of-bond-james-bond/. Tickets: $15 to $35.
