The program meets Mondays at 10:30 a.m. for 90-minute sessions focused on sharing positive thoughts through writing prompts. According to library materials: “Enjoy writing? Join us for a weekly workshop in guided creative journaling. We will share positive thoughts in a comfortable small group setting with prompts to initiate discussion.”

Library Director Tim McDonald draws attention to the educational value of library programs. “I grew up visiting my local library, and it was such a valuable asset that helped me learn, grow and discover,” McDonald said.
The workshop is part of the library’s Literary Arts programming, one of more than 2,300 programs offered annually across the system’s 10 branch locations.
San Rafael Branch, which opened July 31, 1957, operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch offers five parking spaces, free Wi-Fi and a meeting room accommodating up to 33 people. Staff can accommodate both English and Spanish speaking patrons.

The library will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Thursday-Friday, Nov. 27-28 for Thanksgiving.
