The all-new 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 is an all-electric midsize luxury sedan that impresses with its excellent real-world range (282 miles on a full charge!), strong performance, and an array of tech features. Although it was not designed from the ground up to be an EV like its sibling, the Genesis GV60, the Electrified G80 still boasts a compelling offering with its comfortable and handsome interior, solid range, and loads of standard tech.

The dual-motor setup pulls 365 hp and allows the Electrified G80 to hit 60 mph in seconds, providing ample power to get you up to speed quickly and with no fuss. While it’s not a sports sedan and doesn’t claim to be, the Electrified G80’s performance is still impressive. The ride quality is smooth and comfortable most of the time, though we felt more bumps and road imperfections than expected, given the car’s adaptive suspension that can scan the road ahead and adjust for things like potholes.

The Electrified G80’s interior is beautifully appointed. The standard heated and ventilated front seats offer great support in all directions, with plenty of adjustment for the driver’s seat. The rear seat is also comfortable, with effective support and an agreeable seatback angle. The three-zone climate control system is one of the better systems you’ll find in a luxury car these days. Genesis uses dedicated controls for the climate control system, allowing you to adjust the vents manually without having to take your eyes off the road to interact with the touchscreen which is much appreciated.

The Electrified G80 comes loaded with just about every in-car tech feature and driver aid Genesis has to offer. The navigation system is clear and easy to read, with less clutter on the map than you’ll see in some of its rivals. You can input directions using the touchscreen, knob, or voice commands. The driver aids are expansive but not the most refined, with some challenges in the adaptive cruise and lane keeping features.

While its range, both real-world and EPA, is very good for an EV, it’s not headline-worthy these days. However, the Electrified G80 is still an impressive and appealing luxury sedan that’s worth considering if you’re in the market for an all-electric vehicle.
