The 19th Annual Messiah Sing Along in Pasadena will take place at Lake Avenue Church on Sunday, December 14th. This annual event begins at 6:00 p.m. and is free to attend.
The Christmas portion of this monumental work by George Frederick Handel will include the audience singing all of the choruses accompanied by the church’s Chamber Symphony and Sanctuary Choir, involving over 150 musicians.
Soloists include Jane Thorngren, soprano; Garineh Avakian-Akkus, alto; Todd Wilander, tenor; and Andrew Dwan, bass. Duane Funderburk will host and direct the performance. A special preview concert with the Lake Avenue Church children’s choir will begin at 5:45 p.m., prior to the Sing Along.
This annual concert has become the largest event of its kind in the Los Angeles area, attracting about 1,000 participants and audience members each year. People of all ages will enjoy this 75-minute event. A free-will offering will be taken.
