Armenian Cultural Foundation Announces Support for Genocide Memorial Committee

The Armenian Cultural Foundation’s (ACF) Pasadena Chapter announced its full support for the City of Pasadena-approved Armenian Genocide Memorial project and The Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial Committee (PAGMC) board with all its current members in a press release today.

The statement said that the ACF Pasadena Chapter “strongly believes that under the new leadership of the highly respected former Pasadena Police Chief and US Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Director Bernard Melekian that the PAGMC will ensure the timely completion of the Genocide Memorial Project, which was approved by the Pasadena City Council.”

The ACF Pasadena Chapter said it has the utmost confidence in the PAGMC board members and that it “pledges its full support to stand by the board to aid in anyway necessary to ensure the timely completion of the project.”

“We welcome the newly restructured board and all of its members” remarked Sarkis Tatikian, Chairman of the Pasadena ACF.

“We especially view the decision to expand the board to include additional community members as a positive step. We look forward to the start of the construction in the coming weeks and encourage the community at large to actively participate and lend its full support to The PAGMC board to ensure the culmination of this most sacred project,” continued Tatikian.

The Armenian Cultural Foundation (ACF) is one of the largest Armenian community organizations in the City of Pasadena. The ACF runs two cultural centers located on Washington and Foothill Boulevards and says it has more than 800 active community members and their families involved in multiple organizations such as The Armenian Relief Society “Sosse” Chapter, “Äzadamard” Homenetmen athletic and scouts, “Nigol Tuman” chapter of the Armenian Youth Federation among others.
