Make Christmas Tree Recycling a Holiday Tradition, But Hurry

Published on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 | 1:23 am

Make tree recycling a part of your post-holiday tradition. The City offers an easy way for you to “Go Green” with your Christmas tree. Thanks to your help, the City last year collected more than 10,000 trees for recycling, saving valuable landfill space and generating protective landscaping mulch.

Remember, until you are ready to take down your tree and recycle, keep all displayed trees properly watered so they do not dry out while still inside your home.

Drop off your tree from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at:

• Easton Blanche Park, 3100 E. Del Mar Blvd., parking lot on Millicent Way
• Robinson Park, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave., parking lot on Morton Street

From Jan. 2-12, 2018, residents can also place trees at curbside for recycling. Christmas trees will be collected on your normal service day.

Remember, all ornaments, lights and stands must be removed. Flocked and fire retardant treated trees are acceptable. Do not place tree outside for curbside pickup until the morning of your regular service day.

For more information, call the Citizen Service Center at (626) 744-7311 or online at www.cityofpasaadena.net/publicworks.

Remember, no bulky pickup now through Jan. 20, 2018.
