A nationwide faith-based higher education campus ministry called Water Well Ministry will be holding a series of free monthly workshops for small business owners and those planning to set up a small business in the Pasadena area starting on Thursday, March 16, at the Pasadena Public Library on 55 S. Hill Avenue.

The workshops are co-sponsored by Microsoft Corporation, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Score.

Water Well Ministry said in a statement that the workshops will be handled by Jonathan Brown, President of Sherman Oaks-based JDB Consultants that focuses on the small business market, and Pam Bingham, ProAdvisor for Quickbooks in Van Nuys and owner of PB Tax and Accounting Services.

The workshops are from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On March 16, Brown will lecture on The Right Technology for Small Business.

On April 20, both experts will lecture on Five Steps to Prevent Cyber Crime in Your Business, with Brown starting at 10:30 a.m. and Bingham at 12:30 p.m.

On May 18, the topic will be Cloud and Disaster Recovery, and on June 22, Brown and Bingham will lecture on Office 365 for Business.

Brown brings four decades of expertise and experience in cutting-edge computer networking and e-mail system design, including a 10-year stint with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. He began his computer career as a Teacher’s Assistant at University of California Riverside, helping students with their Unix OS, Pascal and Fortran lab assignments.

Even before getting a college degree, Brown has written numerous technical reviews, guides and grants; he was first published at his second job at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for development of a data collection system and scientific programming that reduced the turnaround time for data from source to final analysis from two months to one day.

He then completed his B.S. degree in Computer Science at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). While there, he setup CSUN’s 1st computer controlled robot and won a grant from Apple for work involving Robotics and Artificial Intelligence control systems.

While at CSUN, Jonathan’s career took him to NASA and JPL where he worked doing Networks Systems Engineering and served on NASA’s e-Mail Design and Engineering Team.

Bingham holds a Master of Accounting and Financial Management (MAFM) degree. She is an Enrolled Agent, licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service and also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor with extensive experience helping clients transform their vision to reality.

As a small business owner, Bingham fully understands the challenges a small business owner faces day in and day out and can help you navigate to high level business success. Every small business owner needs to recruit an outstanding team. As a profit and growth expert, Bingham can provide the financial management services you need to maximize your profitability.

Bingham served on the board of The Peacock Foundation. Since 2002, the Foundation has provided group counseling services to over 5,000 children at over 20 community organizations.
