Pasadena police said a man fell from the Paseo Colorado pedestrian bridge over Marengo Avenue Saturday, suffering critical head injuries.

A parking attendant hear a thud around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, found the victim and called 911.

Pasadena Police Lt. John Mercado said officers found the man lying on the sidewalk beneath the bridge. Pasadena Fire Department paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital.

The pedestrian footbridge spans Marengo Avenue between Colorado Boulevard and Green Street. The bridge connects the rooftop of a parking structure on the southwest corner of the Marengo Avenue / Green Street intersection to the top level of the Paseo Colorado.

Police have not been able to identify the victim. The man, who is white and aged between 30 to 40, carried no identification, Mercado said.

There were apparently no witnesses, Mercado said, adding that foul play is not suspected at this time.
