A Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner Investigator has identified the two men shot to death late Friday night in Pasadena as Antoine Dewayne Sutphen Jr., 24,  and Ormani Dajan Duncan, also 24, both Pasadena residents.

Examiner-Coroner Investigator Rudy Molano made the identification to Brian Day of the Pasadena Star-News. Pasadena Now’s attempts to speak with Coroner department spokespersons have been unsuccessful.

The two men died after they were shot in a drive-by attack about 11:33 p.m. as they attended a vigil in 100 block of West Claremont Street honoring another young man who was shot death Dec.22 near the same location. That murder is unsolved.

Two others were shot in that drive-by who survived, a 38-year-old woman who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and a man who suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

One area resident close to the shooting reported hearing as many as 15 shots during the drive-by attack.

Then on Saturday, at a gathering for Sutphen and Duncan, another young man was shot in the upper leg in what is now the most recent shooting attack. He is expected to survive.

Police reports uncooperative witnesses have left them with few leads to pursue.

The shootings are all believed to be gang-related, according to law enforcement and City Councilmember Victor Gordo.
