A June camp for high school girls will teaching some very practical, useful skills and help the girls develop a safety first attitude that builds self confidence and self esteem, its organizers said in announcement.

The San Gabriel Valley chapter of National Association of Women in Construction outline its upcoming MAGIC (Mentor A Girl In Construction) Summer Camp, describing it as a supportive and nurturing environment for girls in 9th through 12th grade to explore and develop basic skills in the areas of carpentry, electrical and plumbing.

“MAGIC Camp has been an extraordinary experience. Everything I learned this week I know will help me later in life. I accomplished so much and this experience would not have been possible without NAWIC,” said Ana Bautista, a past participant.

This free event will be held from June 22 through 26 on the Pasadena City College Campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Lunch and snacks are included. All registrations must be received by June 1, 2015.
