A gunman opened fire in a residential neighborhood in Pasadena on Friday afternoon, but no injuries were reported, police said.

The shooting was reported about 2:50 p.m. in the area of Raymond Avenue and Esther Street, according to Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess.

Witnesses reported that a man passing through the neighborhood in a car pulled over, got out of the vehicle and opened fire on another man, he said. It did not appear the victim was struck.

Both the shooter and intended target left the area prior to officers’ arrival, Burgess said.

A detailed suspect description was not available Saturday morning, as police continued checking area surveillance cameras for clues.
