A Pasadena teenager on Friday allegedly held a knife to her older sister’s throat and hid inside an apartment before surrendering to the police.

Pasadena Police arrested Jesus Ibarra, 19, from an apartment in the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue and was booked for supposed assault with a deadly weapon, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.

The police received a report at 2:50 p.m. that a man threatened his sister at knifepoint inside the apartment complex, Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson told the newspaper.

Several officers responded to the area and found Ibarra on the balcony holding a knife at each hand, before running to the apartment where he stayed for several minutes, the Tribune reported.

The police ultimately made him surrender without a further struggle. The 24-year-old victim was uninjured, the City News Service reported.

Pasadena police held the suspect in lieu of $30,000 bail pending his initial court appearance.
