Pasadena Unifieds Jackson Elementary School in Altadena was temporarily locked down Wednesday morning after a school employee received a 9:51 a.m. call from an unknown man threatening to blow up the school.
The suspect did not say at what time in which the incident was to occur, nor provide any details regarding the description of the device, the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department said in a statement.
The suspect also did not provide any details regarding where the device was located.
Sheriffs deputies conducted a search of the school, along with the assistance of four bomb-sniffing dogs and school personnel who were familiar with the campus.
No explosive devices, or foreign unfamiliar devices were detected, the Sheriffs Department said. Additionally, there was no known motives and there was no suspect identified.
By noon, the Altadena Sheriffs station was able to confirm the threat had been bogus.
“The school has been checked by the police, Altadena Sheriffs, and the ‘all clear’ has been given, so school has resumed its normal operations,” said PUSD spokeswoman Hilda Ramirez Horvath. “School personal are trained to manage emergencies and really keep children focused and calm during things like this. So children have resumed their school day as normal. So it is now resuming as a normal school day.”
