Pasadena Water and Power Offers High School Seniors Chance for College Scholarships

Pasadena Water and Power is again offering Pasadena high school seniors a chance for a college scholarship for the third consecutive year.

Two top seniors will be given an award of a $5,000 and a $2,500 educational scholarship to a two-year or four-year post-secondary institution for the upcoming 2017-2018 academic year, if they present the most creative and thoughtful essays about water and energy efficiency.

Interested students must submit an application and academic transcripts and write an essay. They must reside within PWP’s service territory, be currently enrolled as a high school senior in the City of Pasadena, and provide proof of acceptance for the 2017-2018 school year at an accredited two-year or four-year post-secondary education.

The deadline to submit an application is April 10, 2017. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email by May 8.

PWP’s Educational Scholarship program was first introduced in 2014 as part of the utility’s commitment to empowering and investing in Pasadena’s youth.
