Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new location of its Alhambra health center, with community members receiving a first-hand look at the newly expanded space.

Located in the same complex as its predecessor, this expanded health center features new amenities including complementary Wi-Fi and multiple charging and work stations. With additional intake and exam rooms, PPPSGV will continue to meet the growing need for reproductive health services in the San Gabriel Valley.

“We wanted a place for patients to feel at home,” said President and CEO, Sheri Bonner. “We built this center with a patient’s life in mind. Too often we find ourselves running around with little time to spare, so the complementary Wi-Fi and work station will help patients continue important work while they wait for their appointments.”

Scheduled to open on January 15th, the Alhambra health center will provide a full range of sexual and reproductive health services for everyone including, birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings, well woman exams, pregnancy testing, STI testing and treatment, as well as abortion services.

Following the ribbon cutting, guests participated in guided tours of the health center.

Over 47,000 local residents received high-quality care at Planned Parenthood’s four local health centers and multiple satellite locations this past year in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley. 97% of the health care services are preventive, including life-saving cancer screenings, all FDA-approved methods of birth control, annual exams, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and more.
