Wife Charged In Death Of Husband

On April 1, 2014 at approximately 3:00 PM, Pasadena Police Officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 200 block of S. Arroyo Parkway, Pasadena, CA. Upon arrival, officers found the victim (Chi-Lung Chang, Asian male, 74 years of age) standing outside the west entrance of his residence. He had sustained a small laceration to his head. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Upon further investigation it was determined that the victim’s wife (Gina Sas, Caucasian female, 25 years of age) had caused the injury. Gina Sas was arrested for 273.5 (domestic violence) and booked in the Los Angeles County Jail.

Chang remained hospitalized with severe head trauma and sadly he succumbed to his injury on April 18, 2014. Coronor’s office was notified. On April 24, 2014, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges against Sas:

• PC 192(b) Involuntary manslaughter

• PC 273.5(a) Infliction of injury on spouse

Sas remains in custody on $125,000.00 bail.
