A group of girls saying goodbye after a gathering fell victim to a drive-by shooting early Monday morning during which two were injured, police said.
The shooting occurred along North Garfield Avenue just north of Ashtabula Street, authorities said.
During the incident, which occurred at 2:21 a.m., the group was sprayed by as many as 15 rounds of gunshots, according to neighborhood residents.
Two girls standing in the street next to a parked car were injured. Pasadena Police Lt. Pete Hettema said one girl suffered a serious gunshot wound to her hand, while the other was cut by flying glass.
Both were transported to a local hospital, Hettema said.
No suspects are in custody, he reported. The description given to police of the suspects’ car is simply a “light colored, two-door vehicle.”
It is not known if this shooting is connected to the recent gang shooting which, since December 22, have left three local residents and three injured.
