South Pasadena police arrested a South Pasadena High School student this afternoon after he reportedly admitted to punching a younger boy and causing facial injuries to the victim during lunch on campus.
South Pasadena police officers responded to South Pasadena High School for an assault and battery investigation at 12:15 p.m. Monday.
Prior to the officers arrival, the victim, who is a 14-year-old at the high school, became disoriented and paramedics were called to the school. The victim was subsequently transported to a hospital with facial injuries.
The exact diagnosis of his injuries is not known at this time.
An officer accompanied the victim to the hospital and the victim’s parents were notified.
Officers interviewed the suspect, who is a 16-year-old South Pasadena High School student. The suspect reportedly told police he had confronted the victim at lunch after allegedly hearing that the victim had bullied the suspect’s two younger brothers last week.
A fight ensued. The suspect punched the victim an unknown number of times.
Police arrested the suspect and took him to the South Pasadena Police Station, where he was released to his parents.
