Enjoy the Rose Parade Again

After watching the Rose Parade live, Pasadena residents and visitors can get up close to the floral and animated floats that were part of the parade, as Miracle-Gro present A Showcase of Floats, with the masterpieces parked along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards.

The post-parade event gives viewers a closer look at the design and workmanship that went into each float entry and allows them to learn more about the float process with Tournament volunteers – the “White Suiters” – guiding them through the displays.

The exhibit is open today from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m., with the last entry at 4 p.m. Seniors and disabled persons are welcome from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday.

General admission tickets for the post-parade display are $15, free for children 5 and under, and are available for advanced purchase through www.sharpseating.com. Ticket sales end at 3 p.m. daily.

Free shuttle service to the exhibit area is available and strongly recommended, since parking near the area will be extremely limited. Shuttles will be located at Pasadena City College at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. from 12:30 through 2:30 p.m., departing about every five minutes.

On January 2, shuttles will be available at Rose Bowl Stadium Lot B from 6:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m., also about five minutes apart.

Guests using shuttles will also enter the event through a priority line, the Tournament of Roses Association said.

ADA-accessible parking is available at the Victory Park Recreation Center at 2575 Paloma St. Enter off Paloma St. from N. Altadena Drive.

Metro also offers shuttle service from the Sierra Madre Villa Gold Line Station on January 1 to the Post Parade venue from 12:30 through 3 p.m. Shuttle service from the Post Parade area back to the Sierra Madre Villa Station will continue until 5:30 p.m.

On January 2, shuttle service from the Sierra Madre Villa station to Post Parade Park will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Service from the Post Parade venue back to Sierra Madre Villa Station will continue until 5:30 p.m.

During the hours of operation the shuttle buses will pick up every five to ten minutes from the station. Cost to ride is a regular fare plus a transfer.

Skateboards, roller skates, bicycles, tricycles, Segways and wagons will not be permitted. No animals, except service animals, will be permitted within the venue.

Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes as there are no trams and seating is limited. Viewing all the floats will require walking a distance of approximately 2.5 miles and will take at least two hours as the venue is expected to be crowded.

A brochure with the map of the Post Parade venue will be available at the entrance.

Visitors should also remember to stay hydrated, particularly if the day is hot. Water is available free-of-charge at three locations within the venue. There will also be limited number of food vendors. Visitors are welcome to bring small quantities of food and non-alcoholic drinks into the venue.
