Congratulations to New Horizon School L.A. County Science Fair Winners

Thirteen students represented New Horizon School Pasadena at the 64th Annual Los Angeles County Science Fair on March 29, competing with hundreds of students from all over the L.A. County, and four of NHS students received 2nd or 3rd place in their categories, and three received Honorable Mention recognition for their projects.

All students were honored for their participation and effort on the stage by receiving a medal of recognition. Those receiving 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place medals will go on to compete at the California State Science Fair on April 28-29 at the California Science Center.

The following is the list of our students and the recognition they earned in their respective categories:

Safa Halari (7th Grade), “Molasses: Trap or Spray, Which Keeps Crickets Away?” Pharmacology
Zaynab Eltaib (6th Grade), “Harmful or Helpful? The Effects of Hydrogen Peroxide on Seed Germination,” Ecology
Jad Soucar (6th Grade), “The Stain Brawl,” Product Science

Congratulations to these students and to all of NHS student representatives who worked diligently to prove their hypothesis through the scientific method and teach others what they learned. NHS also thanks the parents for their dedication to supporting their students throughout the process and to the teachers for their consistent guidance and feedback.
