Madison Celebrates Reading!

More than 30 local realtors Madison Tornek and community members joined Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek to read to students in Madison Elementary School classrooms throughout the day on Friday, March 4, 2016 in celebration of Read Across America.

In a festive celebration of reading, learning, and books,
Madison students, faculty and staff, and families demonstrated their love of learning and reading.

A welcoming committee of Madison student “Eagles” who model the school’s values of “be safe, responsible, and respectful” greeted visitors and guided them to waiting classes.

The campus has a new community garden that enhances science learning and emphasizes healthy habits, a parent/teacher room that builds connections between homes and school focused on student achievement, and a library that will soon receive more books. To support the achievement of its students, the school partners with local organizations that offer resources to enhance learning.

In February, Madison Elementary School parents gathered for a hands-on class on preparing their children for kindergarten through playful projects and crafts that help students with writing.

Hosted by Pasadena’s Playopolis Toys, parents had a fun time using playdough and learning how to use homemade crafts to enhance their children’s development and ensure their success on the learning journey.
