Marshall’s Callie Guthrie Finishes Strong in San Diego State University Track Meet

On Friday, March 24,2017, in the beautiful city of San Diego, the Marshall Track and Field stepped into the San Diego State University stadium for the 39th Aztec Invitational were schools and colleges came together to improve their times.

The coaching staff wanted to expose Marshall Fundamental School students to an Elite Track Meet. As the mile began Callie Guthrie was running with the pack. As they turned into the third lap Callie separated herself from the pack.

Coming into the last 300 meters Callie was determined to finish strong. When the official results were posted we learned she broke the high school girls’ mile by 11 seconds. As told by Ms. Green.
