Mayfield Junior School: Mustangs Golf!

Mayfield Junior School’s (MJS) golf teams competed in the middle school independent league tournament this week at Altadena golf course and made an impressive showing. It was the first time for a Mayfield girls team as well as a separate day of competition for the girls. Placing fifth was eighth grader Paige Nixon, and placing third was fifth grader Meg Garrity.

In the boys tournament, all six boys shot scores in the 40s, the only team to do so. Tying for third place were eighth graders Carter Link, Michael Balian and Henry Fitzhugh. Placing second, with an impressive 40, was eighth grader Harry Foy.

The league champion was determined by taking the top 5 scores from both days of competition. Mayfield Junior School was crowned league champion with a total score of 209. All of the participants are to be commended for their positive attitudes, determination, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the golfers!
