2 Shootings Reported Overnight in Pasadena; No Victims Found

Police investigated two shootings in Pasadena late Friday and early Saturday, including one that took place at an Airbnb rental home that was being used for a house party, but found no victims, officials said.

Officers first responded just before 10 p.m. to reports of gunfire heard in the area of Navarro Avenue and Tremont Street, Pasadena  police Lt. Marcia Taglioretti said. A spent 9mm bullet casing was found at the northeast corner of the intersection.

A witness relayed that a man was walking west along Tremont Street when someone inside a black, newer-model SUV opened fire from the passenger-wide window as the vehicle made a turn onto southbound Navarro Avenue, the lieutenant said.

The intended target ducked and ran, she said. The SUV continued south on Navarro Avenue.

Police then received “numerous” reports about 2:35 a.m. of gunfire, coupled with sounds of screaming, coming from a house party in the 600 block of Atchison Street, according to Taglioretti.

Officers discovered an unexpected 9mm bullet on the ground in front of the home, she said. No victims were found.

A white Mercedes-Benz may have been connected to the shooting, the lieutenant added.

It was determined the home where the shooting occurred had been rented out through Airbnb, she said.

No further details were available.
