City officials reported 21 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday and no new deaths.

The latest figures bring the city’s total to 2,230 local cases and 111 deaths.

Huntington Hospital is treating 34 patients battling the virus, and 21 cases are pending.

In total, 5,027 people were hospitalized in California as of Sunday. About 1,619 were being treated in intensive care units.

Hospitalizations have dropped by 10 percent in the past week, but infections during that same time increased by 12 percent.

Deaths increased by 9 percent over the past week.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has confirmed 9 new deaths and 1,192 new cases of COVID-19.  The decrease in new cases and new deaths reflects a weekend reporting lag.

To date, Public Health has identified 221,950 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of L.A. County and reports a total of 5,254 deaths. Upon further investigation, four cases reported earlier were not LA County residents.
