42 COVID-19 Infections Detected in Pasadena Since Saturday

Pasadena saw nine new COVID-19 infections on Monday, officials said.

Monday’s figure was preceded by 11 new infections on Sunday and 22 on Saturday, according to city data. No deaths were reported over the weekend.

In all, the Pasadena Public Health Department has recorded 13,344 cases of COVID-19 and 363 deaths.

The Pasadena Unified School District reported 42 infections among students and three among staff members over the prior week.

At Huntington Hospital, officials reported Sunday that 14 COVID-19 patients were being treated at the facility, including three being cared for in intensive care units. Ten of the admitted patents were unvaccinated, including two of the three patients being treated in ICUs.

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officials announced 826 new infections and eight deaths on Monday, citing the usual lag in weekend reporting of data.

The county’s pandemic totals stood at 1,471,645 confirmed cases of the virus and 26,320 fatalities.

Officials listed 656 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across L.A. County.

The California Department of Public Health reported 16,921 new infections and 234 deaths on Monday, raising the state’s pandemic totals to 4,553,194 COVID-19 cases and 69,741 fatalities.

The statewide weekly positivity rate was measured at 2.2%, according to CPPH data.

As of Monday, L.A. County represented 32% of California’s COVID-19 infections and 38% of the state’s fatalities.
