90.6% of Eligible Pasadenans Have Received At Least A Single Jab, While 82.1% Are Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Public health officials reported Tuesday that 82.1% of Pasadenans over 12 years old were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while another 8.5% of local residents had received a single dose of two-dose vaccine regimens.

The daily case count continued declining, with 19 infections reported in Pasadena on Tuesday, according to the Pasadena Public Health Department. No deaths were documented.

Since the start of the pandemic, Pasadena has seen a total of 11,965 confirmed infections and 352 deaths, city records show.

The average number of daily infections over the prior week dipped to 29.9.

At Huntington Hospital, officials reported treating 16 COVID-19 patients on Tuesday, with two of them being housed in an intensive care unit.

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health officials reported 2,293 detected infections and 20 additional fatalities on Tuesday, bringing the county’s pandemic totals to 1,307,970 COVID-19 cases and 24,704 deaths.

Officials listed 1,138 patients being treated for the virus county-wide, with 22% of them in ICUs, according to a statement issued by the agency.

Tuesday’s test positivity rate was recorded at 6.6%.

At the state level, the California Department of Public Health announced 7,318 new infections and 11 fatalities, raising the statewide tallies to 3,881,089 cases of the virus and 64,096 deaths.

The statewide weekly positivity rate stood at 6.7%.

As of Tuesday, L.A. County accounted for 34% of California’s COVID-19 infections and 39% of the state’s fatalities.
