St. Edmundâs Episcopal Church of San Marino takes pleasure in presenting organist Weicheng Zhao in recital on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Zhaoâs will be joined by violinist Fang Gao, who is also his wife. Mr. Zhao is a graduate of the Tianjim and the University of Southern California, where he was a student of Cherry Rhodes. He has been a prize winner in several prestigious competitions, including the Miami Organ Competition, The Clarence Mader Competition, and the Los Angeles International Liszt Competition.
Mr.Zhao will perform works of Mader, Durufle, J. S. Bach, Widor, and two of his own transcriptions of traditional Chinese music. Ms. Gao also attended the Tianjin Conservatory, and is currently enrolled in the Thornton School of Music at USC, A reception will follow the recital, and there is ample parking on St. Edmundâs campus.
