[Updated 10:04 p.m.] Â Pasadena police responding to a call of shots fired found a woman suffering a gunshot wound tonight at 6:24 p.m. in the 400 block of North Los Robles Avenue.
Lt. John Luna said the victim is a 46-year-old black woman who is a Pasadena resident. She was shot in her lower back, Luna said.
The suspect had walked to the rear carport area of an apartment building and fired multiple shots at several people, Luna said. The building apparently is located  directly south of the 99 Cents Only Store parking lot.
The only victim struck was the woman, who was transported to a local hospital and “is expected to survive,” Luna said.
Police immediately closed down North Robles Avenue between Villa Street and Maple Street to search for the male suspect, described by Luna as being a young black or Hispanic man in his late teens or early twenties with hair styled into dreadlocks, dressed in dark clothing.
Police ground units and a police helicopter combed the area, but the suspect was not located, Luna said.
