Police officers arrested a man who they said was reported to be walking around naked and acting strangely in the 1000 block of Summit Avenue in Pasadena Tuesday night about 9 p.m.
The man had to be immobilized with a taser gun, Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said, because he was physically confronting officers when they approached him.
“We got a call about a person who was walking around naked, breaking bottles and engaging in bizarre behavior,” Goodman said. “We actually located the suspect in the area of Washington Blvd. and Forest Avenue and confronted the suspect.”
Goodman said the suspect engaged the officers in a physical confrontation, refused to follow their orders, and so the officers decided to deploy a taser.
The suspect was finally subdued, and officers were able to take him into custody without any further incident.
“He was transported to a local hospital and found to be under the influence of an unknown drug,” Goodman said.
The man was later identified as Patrick Young, 41, a Los Angeles resident with ties to Pasadena.
Young was booked for indecent exposure, for delaying officers in the performance of their duties and being under the influence of a controlled substance, Goodman said.
